How to earn Marriott elite status faster (and cheaper)
Do you really want to spend 100 nights a year in hotel beds? Probably not.
Look at the credit cards. They are the cheat code for many travelers.
Consider a traveler who stays 35 nights a year. By themselves, they hit Gold. Boring. But add the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless card. That card grants 15 elite night credits automatically. Suddenly, they’re at 50 nights. Platinum. Lounge access. Upgrade eligibility. Breakfast.
The marginal cost of the card is often less than the value of the status benefits. Platinum is generally considered the “sweet spot” for most people. Hitting Titanium or Ambassador purely for status, without the travel to match, usually isn’t worth the spend unless you have specific high-end needs.

- Series by Marriott (in US/Canada/China) + all other brands: 1 night per stay.
