The doors are open.
Hilton Honors just launched registration for their second promotion of 2020—wait, 2026 yes, it’s the future. It’s called “More Nights, More Points.” Sounds energetic, right? It’s not. It’s barely a whisper compared to the shouters of years past. Global promos have become… well, forgettable. Anemic is a good word. Or mediocre. Pick one.
Here is what they are actually offering.
The Fine Print (That Isn’t Very Fine)
For stays starting June 1, 2016 through August 15, 2026, you get a bonus.
Stay one to three nights? You get 2,000 points.
Stay four or more nights? You bump it up to 4,000 points.
It doesn’t matter how much you pay. It doesn’t matter which Hilton brand you pick. You show up, you sleep, you get the points. You don’t even need to book after registering. If you already have a reservation, go sign up and you’re golden. There is no cap on how many times you can stack these.
Points usually hit your account in a few days. Sometimes they drag for six or eight weeks, which is annoying, but hey.
And yes. Even award stays count.
Registration is mandatory before your first night. Do it early. Just in case the system crashes again.
Is It Worth Your Time?
Let’s talk value.
I put a value on Hilton Honors points at roughly half a cent. So those 2,000 points? That’s $10. The 4,000? Twenty bucks.
$10 is a sandwich. Maybe a fancy one with avocado. $20 gets you a solid meal and a drink.
Is this better than the void? Sure.
But is it reason to reroute your travel plans? Hardly. It works best for cheap, single-night award stays. You aren’t paying cash, so that $10 bonus is purely additive. Do it for a five-night cash stay at a resort and the return feels like a joke.
Squeeze Every Last Point
This promo stacks. Of course it does. That’s how they keep us loyal to a dying cause.
On top of this, you get base points.
* Base members : 10x per dollar.
* Gold members : +80% bonus.
* Diamond members : +100% bonus.
If you want to maximize this, you pull out a card. Any card, really.
The Hilton Aspire card gives you 14x on Hilton spend. The Surpass and Business cards hit 12x. The standard co-branded Amex does 7x.
Run the numbers if you’re obsessed. For most people? You’ll just swipe the plastic and hope for the best.
The Reality Check
Hilton is throwing crumbs.
We used to get multipliers. Real ones. 10x stays, bonus weekend nights, the works. Now? We’re happy with an extra 2,000 pixels in a database. The recent devaluations make this feel less like a gift and more like damage control.
Registration is live now. Go do it if you were going to stay at a Hilton anyway. If you need a reason to pick Hilton over IHG or Marriott right now? This isn’t it.
The next deal drops in a year. Probably worse.
